A Schengen visa is a short-stay visa that allows you to travel freely across 27 European countries that form the Schengen Area, including France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal, and more. With a single Schengen visa, you can visit multiple member countries during your authorised stay.

Standard Schengen visa processing takes 15 calendar days from the date your application is submitted to the embassy. In some cases, it can be processed faster. We recommend applying at least 4-6 weeks before your travel date to allow enough time.

The standard Schengen visa fee is £80 for adults. Children aged 6-11 pay £40. Children under 6 years old are exempt from the visa fee. Additional service fees may apply depending on the embassy. FlightLight charges a transparent consultancy fee on top of the embassy fee.

You will typically need: a valid passport (valid for at least 3 months beyond your intended stay), completed visa application form, 2 recent passport photos, travel insurance (minimum £30,000 coverage), proof of accommodation (hotel bookings), return flight itinerary, 3 months of bank statements, and proof of employment or business.

Yes! A Schengen visa allows you to travel freely between all 27 Schengen member states during your authorised stay period. You should apply to the embassy of the country you plan to spend the most time in, or your main destination if stays are equal.

A standard Schengen tourist visa allows a maximum stay of 90 days within any 180-day period across all Schengen countries combined. This is the 90/180 rule. Overstaying your visa can result in bans and future visa refusals.

Yes, travel insurance is a mandatory requirement for all Schengen visa applications. The policy must provide minimum coverage of £30,000 for medical emergencies and repatriation, and must be valid for the entire duration of your stay in the Schengen Area.

If your Schengen visa is refused, you will receive a written notification with reasons. You have the right to appeal the decision. FlightLight can review your application, identify any weaknesses, and help you reapply with a stronger supporting document pack.
